Our non-profit society has been incorporated since 1996. Under our bylaws, we are a “Cooperating Society”, which means we work to support Alberta Parks. While our history has included many responsibilities, our current main focuses are:
- Kananaskis Trail Stewardship
- Canmore Trail Alliance
- Environmental Education
- Monthly Newsletter
- Refreshing Interpretive Trail Signage
- Current Events
- Past Events
- Kananaskis Speaker and Discovery Series
- Trails Fest
- Volunteer Appreciation Evening
For years, the Friends of Kananaskis Country have been working behind the scenes to improve your beloved trails. Our continued work is an integral part of what makes Kananaskis Country so great. We strive to offer volunteering opportunities in all of our projects to enhance community involvement with our organization and to foster a powerful, broad-based public connection with Kananaskis Country.
We raise money to support relevant, practical, learning-based, enriching and fun initiatives that not only benefit the people involved, but benefit the ecology and ecosystems of Kananaskis Country.
We are always happy to hear from you. Whether you wish to volunteer, make a donation, find out more about our organization, or simply have questions about Kananaskis Country, we will do our best to respond to you.
