Volunteer Agreement, Release and Waiver of Liability Form

  • Disclosure: Trail work, repair and maintenance (“the Project”) can involve risks and hazards that may include, but are not limited to: (1) strenuous physical activity; (2) the use of potentially dangerous tools and other construction related equipment; (3) working around other participants who may not be accustomed to this type of labor or tools and equipment associated with it; (4) working in mountainous, back country, or other urban or rural terrain that may be uneven, rocky and otherwise hazardous; (5) interaction with wildlife; (6) other risks and hazards that may be described in the Project description.

  • The policy for participation in the Project requires that every participant provide the information sought in this document and execute this Volunteer Agreement and Release and Waiver of Liability (“Agreement”) prior to participating in the Project.
  • Release and Waiver of Liability: I am aware of the risks and hazards inherent in participating in the Project. I agree to assume all risks of loss and injury that may arise out of my participation in the Project and I agree to waive any and all claims against the parties described below. I hereby release, and agree to:

  • Indemnify and hold harmless the Friends of Kananaskis Country, Alberta Environment and Parks, project participants, and anyone else involved with this project and their respective agents, representatives, officers, employees, successors, assignees and insurers, hereinafter referenced to collectively as “the Release Parties” from any and all liability, claims, demands or actions or causes of action whatsoever, arising out of damage, loss or injury to my person or property, whether anticipated or unanticipated, while participating in any of the activities contemplated by this Volunteer Agreement and Release and Waiver of Liability (“Agreement”) whether or not such damage, loss, or injury results from the negligence of the Released Parties. This Agreement shall be binding upon me, my heirs, successors, assigns, administrators and executors.
  • I acknowledge that I have reviewed, and agree to abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of the Friends of Kananaskis Country while participating in the Project. I hereby acknowledge that I have read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to the foregoing Agreement, including the waiver and release.
  • Date Format: DD slash MM slash YYYY
  • I consent to this child volunteering, pursuant to the above terms and conditions (under 18 years of age)
  • Termination Date of Agreement: March 31, 2023
