The Friends of Kananaskis and their partners were planning to present Winter Safety Day, on January 16, 2022. However, this event has been cancelled and will not be held this winter.
In the interests of the health and safety of our participants, exhibitors and volunteers, we could not see a practical way to host the event at this time. We considered postponing it a month. However, that may not get us out of the current COVID trajectories, and also starts to push the utility of a winter safety event when held so late in the season.
“It is indeed disappointing for us and the other exhibitors,” said Derek Ryder, Friends Co-Chair. “But this event was to be about safety. Even our outdoor event would have required us to put in substantial restrictions to adequately protect attendees. We did not feel we could provide the kind of interactive event we wanted to, in a safe way, at this time.”
