We are thrilled to be celebrating the organization’s 25th Anniversary! As an organization OF volunteers, FOR volunteers, striving to maintain the ecological integrity and recreational use of Kananaskis Country for present and future generations – this Silver Jubilee milestone is notable.
Now more than ever, we recognize the tremendous value of our programs in providing opportunities for people to give back to the trails and wild spaces they love, and in helping others to experience a meaningful connection with Kananaskis Country. Our continued work is an integral part of what makes Kananaskis Country so great.
Now you can show your trail love with a donation to the Friends of Kananaskis Country.
From November 15 – December 11 – Help Us Raise $15,000 $18,000
We are thrilled to report we reached our goal, unbelievable! The Trail Love – Give Back Fundraiser launched on November 15 with the goal to raise $15,000 by December 11. We have extended our target to $18,000. The extra $3,000 of Trail Love will have additional impact on our programs.
Your generous support will ensure our programs continue to foster a powerful connection with Kananaskis Country through trail stewardship, volunteer trail work events, education and outreach.
For 25 years, we’ve added more and more opportunities for you to give back to the trails you love. More trail care days, more diverse trails to work on in almost every corner of K-Country, and more fun projects to participate in. With your help, we can keep growing that for another 25 years!
– FKC Board of Directors & Staff
Given the opportunity to volunteer with Friends of Kananaskis has been so fulfilling, and energizing for me personally. It has given me a truly rewarding way of giving back to this region I love. Through incredible mentorship, I have learned so much about trail maintenance and construction as well as environmental stewardship of this rugged yet fragile environment. In addition, the camaraderie of fellow volunteers and leaders has been a wonderful aspect of volunteering for Friends of Kananaskis.
– Dave Slaght, Volunteer
We’ve been playing and volunteering in Kananaskis Country for a few decades now. Volunteering with Friends of Kananaskis provides many opportunities to help steward and sustain trail networks now and into the future. As donors, we value all the focus on efficiently and effectively using donations for maximum benefit to K Country.
