It’s that rewarding time of year when we get to look back on our trail care season and run some numbers, and again this year we are absolutely amazed and so grateful to everyone who dedicated their time and energy to Kananaskis Country and Bow Valley trails.
Despite the ups and downs of the ongoing Covid situation, our trail care season ran pretty smoothly, with very few weather-related cancellations and good progress on some new projects and in areas we hadn’t worked in for awhile. We are very excited to share the outcomes of our 2021 Trail Care season: 348 volunteers came out 653 times and worked over 3,000 hours. Amazing!!!
We are grateful for our continued partnership with Alberta Environment and Parks which enables our Trail Care program to offer these unique opportunities. A big thanks as well to the Canmore & Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA) for their great partnership on several co-hosted trail care events in the Bow Valley that brought together keen trail workers from different groups.
Drum roll…presenting the 2021 Trail Report!
Everything that FKC is able to accomplish is a result of our dedicated Crew Leaders, volunteers, members, and Board of Directors. We are a big Kananaskis Country family who like giving back to this special place while in good company of like-minded, fun and engaging people.
Our volunteer Crew Leaders put in extra hours towards first aid certification and participating in our annual Crew Leader Training, and help ensure we deliver trail days that are well organized, safe, productive and fun. Thanks to our 2021 Crew Leaders for leading 70 trail care days!
