Trail Day – Lower Skogan Pass – Winter Maintenance

TRAIL CARE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 

WINTER TRAIL MAINTENANCE 

This project will work with Alberta Parks staff to do brushing and limbing of winter snowshoe and nordic ski trails on various trails in the Evan-Thomas Provincial Recreation Area (near Kananaskis Village). The level of work will be moderate. We’ll be using hand tools (long handled pruners and hand saws), as well as chucking and dragging the cut material into the forest. A good pair of high winter boots is needed. Snowshoes or nordic skis are also welcome if you would like to snowshoe/ski to the project sites.

Dates & Trails:

Wednesday February 9 – Kananaskis Village-area trails (Terrace Link, others)

Friday February 18 – Bill Milne Trail

Thursday March 3 – Skogan Pass (lower portion) 

Friday March 11 – Bill Milne Trail

Meeting time:9:00am (work day: 9:00am-3:00pm) 

Meeting location & What to Bring: Will be confirmed in reminder email, sent day prior to registered volunteers.
