Tom Snow Trail

June 7, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

The 2013 flood damaged sections of the Tom Snow trail. Thanks to Alberta Parks, the trail is now rebuilt and almost done! Alberta Parks needs our help June 7 and 8 with the finishing work.

Meeting time: 9:00am (9am –4 pm)

Meeting location: Moose Creek Interpretive/Spruce Woods Parking (located off Highway 68 – Sibbald Creek Trail, near the Jumpingpound Demonstration Forest)

Number of people: 10/day

What to expect: The level of effort will be moderate and include racking the trail, fine-tuning the tread, and hauling cut ends trees and branches off the trail. There will be a 30 minute hike (each way) to the work site.

What to bring: You’ll need to wear hiking boots and bring work gloves (Friends of Kananaskis work gloves will be available), rain gear (hopefully not needed), along with your lunch, water, sunscreen, bug spray, bear spray, and other personal gear. All of the tools and equipment will be supplied.

Volunteer Agreement Form: All volunteers working on a Alberta Parks project need to fill out this Volunteer Agreement Form.

The form can be filled out once, and valid for the entire season by filling out the ‘Termination of Agreement’ section at the bottom of the form and adding date ‘December 31, 2017’.

To accelerate the paperwork process, print and fill out this form prior to the trail care day. Please present your completed form to the Friends of KC Crew Leader.

Note: Should weather not cooperate and we need to cancel, we will notify you by email around 12pm the day before the event.

Sign up closes at 12pm on the day before the event.
