We post all the volunteer projects and upcoming events here. Please do NOT just show up for a volunteer project. It is important to Sign Up First to insure we have sufficient tools, equipment, supervision and to be able to notify you of project changes.
We’ll be working on a short reroute on the Powderface Trail.
Meeting time: 9:00am (9:00am-4:00pm)
Meeting location: Powderface Day Use – go through Bragg Creek to Kananaskis Country. Turn right (West) on Hwy 66 to Powderface Day Use, just passed Elbow Falls.
What to expect: The level of effort will range from medium to difficult and include working with hand tools to remove duff, finish the tread work, cut out roots, and rock removal.
What to bring: You’ll need to wear hiking boots and bring work gloves (Friends of Kananaskis work gloves will be available), rain gear (hopefully not needed), along with your lunch, water, sunscreen, bug spray, bear spray, and other personal gear. All of the tools and equipment will be supplied by Parks.
Volunteer Agreement Form: All volunteers working on an Alberta Parks – Public Land project need to fill out this Volunteer Agreement Form. The form can be filled out once, and valid for the entire season by filling out the ‘Termination of Agreement’ section at the bottom of the form and adding date ‘December 31, 2016’.
To accelerate the paperwork process, print and fill out this form prior to the trail care day. Please present your completed form to the Friends of KC Crew Leader.
Note: Should weather not cooperate and we need to cancel, we will notify you by email around 12pm the day before the event.
SIGN UP HERE (sign up closes at 12pm the day prior to the event).
