Mount Shark Ski Trails

September 8, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Mount Shark Ski Trails

This project will be brushing and limbing on the 15km ski loop at Mt Shark (the 5k that has been ungroomed for a number of years that is planned to be groomed with more regularity in the future).

Dates:  Saturday September 8

Meeting time: 9:00 am (work hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm)

SIGN UP HERE (after clicking the link, scroll down to “Spray Valley Provincial Park”)

Meeting location: Mt Shark Parking Lot

Number of people: 10-12/day

What to expect:  It will entail light to medium-level work involving hand saws, pole saws and clippers, as well as some clean up (throwing bushes off the trail) behind some trail crew using brush saws.  We could use as many hands as we can get for this project!

What to bring: You’ll need to wear hiking boots and bring work gloves (work gloves will be available), rain gear (hopefully not needed), along with your lunch, water, sunscreen, bear spray, and other personal gear. All of the tools and equipment will be supplied.

Note: Should weather not cooperate and we need to cancel, we will notify you by email around 12pm the day before the event.

Sign up closes at 12pm on the day before the event.

Volunteer Agreement Form: Volunteers will need to fill out this FKC Volunteer Agreement Form.

The form can be filled out once, and valid for the entire season by filling out the ‘Termination of Agreement’ section at the bottom of the form and adding date ‘December 31, 2018’. To accelerate the paperwork process, print and fill out this form prior to the trail care day. Please present your completed form to the FKC or CTA Crew Leader.
