We post all the volunteer projects and upcoming events here. Please do NOT just show up for a volunteer project. It is important to Sign Up First to insure we have sufficient tools, equipment, supervision and to be able to notify you of project changes.
The Lantern Creek Trail is the official route to the Picklejar Lakes, a popular fishing lake that’s also popular with backcountry campers. In 2017, Friends volunteers helped Alberta Parks improve several sections of eroded trail. Let’s finish what was started and help complete the maintenance of this great trail.
Meeting time: 9:00am (9am – 4 pm)
Meeting location: Lantern Creek Day Use
What to expect: There will be a 60 – 90 minute hike to the locations that need to be worked on. The level of effort will be moderate-hard and include rerouting and rebuilding some sections of trail – mostly pulaski and rogue work, with some removal of dead fall and maybe a few rocks to be moved.
What to bring: Come prepared to work all day in an outdoor environment. Dress in layers, rain gear, hat, sunglasses & sunscreen, gloves along with your lunch, water for the day, bear spray, and other personal gear. All of the tools and equipment will be supplied.
Volunteer Agreement Form: All volunteers need to fill out this Volunteer Agreement Form.
Note: Should weather not cooperate and we need to cancel, we will notify you by email around 12pm the day before the event.
SIGN UP HERE – Sign up closes at 12pm on the day prior to the event.
