On July 22 and 23, 2017, the Canadian National Mountain Bike Championships will be held at the Canmore Nordic Centre. This will be an event where the best cross country mountain bikers in Canada will be competing for the National Title in all different age categories.

One of the goals of the organizing committee is to create a course that meets current World Cup standards. This requires shorter laps with more visibility for spectators in the stadium area of the Nordic Centre. While many of the existing trails will be used for the course, new trails are also required. In creating a successful event, we are requesting volunteers to come out and help build the trail.

Thursday Trail Days:  June 1
Time: 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Meeting Location: Canmore Nordic Centre – Stadium

No sign up required, just show up!

What to expect: The level of effort will range from medium to difficult and include hand tool work such as digging a new trail, removing duff and earth with picks and pulaskis, and shoveling/raking out rutting.

What to bring: You’ll need to wear sturdy footwear (like hiking boots) and bring work gloves, rain gear (hopefully not needed), along with food, water and other personal gear. All tools and equipment will be supplied.

Volunteer Agreement Form: You will need to fill out this Volunteer Agreement Form (unless you have already filled out this form in 2017).
