TRAIL CARE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Bow Valley Provincial Park – Trail Maintenance & Brushing Projects
This project will work on several trails in Bow Valley PP over multiple dates. Types of work will vary depending on the trail and section and could include:
Projects & Dates:
Mon, Aug 23 – Paved Path: light work: removing overgrown junipers and tree branches growing over the 4km paved path). 6-8 volunteers needed.
Wed, Aug 25 – Paved Path: light work: removing overgrown junipers and tree branches growing over the 4km paved path). 6-8 volunteers needed.
Wed, Sept 1 – Bow River Trail: light – moderate work: tread repair, brushing, 5 volunteers needed.
Fri, Sept 3 – Many Springs Trail: light – moderate work: tread repair, brushing, 5 volunteers needed.
Meeting time: 9:00am (work day: 9:00am-3:00pm)
Meeting location: will be confirmed in trail day reminder sent the day prior.
What to expect: See project dates above. The level of effort will range from light to moderate and mainly include using hoes, rakes and Pulaskis to improve tread and drainage, brush and limb trees/bushes to improve sightlines and/or remove overgrown vegetation.
REMINDER: Effective June 1, 2021 a Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle at provincial park and public lands sites in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley.
Volunteer Agreement Form: You will need to fill out this volunteer agreement waiver prior to working on a trail care event. The form will be valid until March 31, 2022. To accelerate the paperwork process, please visit the link above to fill out this form ASAP prior to the trail day.
